About Team Phoenix!!

I’m excited to be part of The Goodtimes Project’s "Month of Hope, Year of Joy" campaign this September! The Goodtimes Project creates caring spaces for families impacted by childhood cancer to connect and for kids to be kids at camps, events, and programs. I am raising funds to support these programs, which are cost-free to families, ensuring that families can stay connected all year long. This month, my goal is to contribute $1,500 to the $15,000 needed to fund an entire year of single-day programs, creating a community of hope, love, and joy. My journey with Camp Goodtimes began in 2009 when I was only seven. At the time, I was receiving Chemotherapy to treat brain tumors. Going through a life-threatening illness at such a young age was a hard thing to go through. It was challenging to make friends independently because I was so "different." However, my family eventually learned about Camp Goodtimes through the wonderful people at Seattle Childrens Hospital. This camp opened up a whole new world for me. Finally, I was around people who shared these unique experiences, allowing me to be myself for a change. I made many friends, and the love and joy I gained for this camp grew over the next ten years. Every year making new friends, creating new core memories, and being mentored by fantastic counselors/staff helped me grow into my authentic self. The camp has taught me so much over the years, and it's a truly special place for me. I can't put into words how much this place means to me. Thank you for supporting my efforts and helping make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by pediatric cancer. Together, we can turn a month of hope into a year of joy!
